Third Eye Vision

Removing seen and unseen barriers preventing success

The Problem

In today's society, we are constantly bombarded with images, stereotypes, and divisive viewpoints influenced by political beliefs, sexual orientation, race, perception, and religion, which often lead to verbal and physical conflict. Although many initiatives have been launched to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural relevance, and courageous conversations, achieving meaningful progress continues to be a significant challenge. This reality not only pushes us to assess the effectiveness of these programs but also highlights a vital need for genuine transformation.

The Solution

The Talk 2.0 - A structured, solution-oriented cognitive behavior therapy approach involving group sessions guided by a facilitator. This method encourages members from their Affinity group to step outside their silos to discuss similar challenges, aiming to generate multiple solutions for both common and not-so-common issues. The goal is to reduce verbal and physical conflicts while equipping individuals with essential skills to navigate life successfully with resources for ongoing mentorship and support.

The Process

First, we gather information about your goals, challenges, and areas where you want our help. We also collect information about the location and specify our requirements. Following that, we gather information about the participants to create a more suitable curriculum for them.

What sets our Group Facilitation apart?

Learning with a smile – Participants are encouraged to enjoy themselves while gaining meaningful insights. We believe growth happens best when it’s both engaging and enjoyable.

Tailored to your team – Our curriculum isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s custom-crafted to create a virtual experience that speaks directly to the unique dynamics of your Xfinity Group.

Solutions from every angle – We don’t stop at one answer. For every challenge discussed, participants explore a range of solutions—so everyone walks away with tools that work for them.

Recommendations

"It is with great pleasure that I recommend Mr. Sam Payne. I had the privilege of working with Sam at Jackson Middle School, where I served as Principal and he was our Student Achievement Advisor.

Sam was instrumental in significantly raising achievement and reducing behavior referrals, particularly for our most at-risk young men. This included our young men of color, who had previously shown the least academic growth and accounted for the majority of behavior referrals, often involving aggressive, disorderly, and disruptive conduct.

Among the impactful programs and initiatives Sam developed and implemented were:

Tracking ABC data: Sam meticulously tracked "ABC" data for each student on his caseload, with "A" representing attendance, "B" for behavior, and "C" for course grades. He consistently reported this data to our administrative team throughout the year.

Young Men’s Leadership Group: Sam initiated this program to provide dedicated after-school time and attention to our highest-risk boys who exhibited the most severe ABC data. He garnered strong parent support and maintained constant communication with families.

Two-Minute Time Out: This procedure allowed identified students on Sam’s caseload to show a pass to their teacher when feeling overwhelmed or in need of a break. The student had two minutes to go to Sam's office, regulate themselves, and then two minutes to return to classroom instruction.

These are just a few examples of the programs and initiatives Sam implemented at Jackson Middle School to provide vital support and encouragement to some of our most marginalized students. His dedication and effectiveness in these roles were truly commendable."

Tom Hagerty Principal, Anoka Middle School for the Arts: Anoka, Minnesota

"I had the privilege of working alongside Sam Payne, and it was immediately clear that he is a rare kind of leader—one who operates with passion, purpose, and a deep commitment to young people. Sam is an unapologetic advocate for Black communities, consistently standing in the gap and using his voice, intellect, and presence to uplift others.

What stands out most about Sam is his ability to connect with young men in a way that is both empowering and authentic. He leads with heart and intention, rooted in education and lived experience. Whether in a classroom, on the court, or in community spaces, Sam models what it means to be a mentor, role model, and change agent.

His work doesn’t just impact the moment—it plants seeds that grow into confidence, identity, and leadership in those around him. Any team, school, or organization would be fortunate to have someone like Sam Payne."
